What's the first step in building a successful and profitable team?


The first stage of building a team, when an agent at level 2 is ready for level 3, which means the agent is overwhelmed by the amount of leads that are coming in, the amounts of contracts and the amounts of administrative tasks. 


Most agents at this level tend to make the mistake of hiring another agent, a buyer agent, to "help them carry the load", but that is a mistake!


The first step in building a team is to hire an administrative assistant, not a buyer agent. Someone you can delegate all the administrative tasks to, who can handle the pressure and remove the load. About 80% of what we need to do in the business is not sales related and therefore should be delegated to someone else, an administrative assistant. The agent should then focus on doing more sales and bringing in more business.


When you bring the right administrative assistant onboard and train them, you will immediately realize that you have gained a lot of free time. And that is the main purpose of hiring an administrative assistant.


I see many times agents who are overwhelmed with leads and deals and the first thing they decide to do is bring in a buyer agent, who then creates even more administrative overload. At this point instead of focusing on bringing in more sales they find themselves servicing the buyer agent. That is wrong. 


Bringing another agent before hiring an administrative help will actually makes you more overwhelmed and in the long run it will cause you to lose a lot of business instead of growing and enslave you.
